Join Us For The Scott Cline Regatta

It’s hard to believe we are already well into the Fall racing series which will be the final series of our racing season. The season has been great and has gone far too quickly. Not only has the sailing been fun and competitive, the weather has been amazing with consistent winds and pleasant temperatures. It’s been the kind of season that reminds us why we love this sport.

We recently finished our “Summer” series. Congratulations to the following podium winners: PHRF Fleet: 1st. “Renaissance” Dave Steckman 2nd. “Yeah Dogg” Chad Holcomb 3rd. “Lucky Jim” Jim McAlpine

“Windseeker” Fleet: 1st. “Toto” Allan Wilson 2nd. “Lemonade” Jason Polly

As the days grow shorter, the weather gets crisper, and the racing season draws to a close, we look forward to our season’s final regatta October 6-7, The Scott Cline Memorial Regatta. Come join us as we honor the legacy of Scott Cline, our friend and fellow sailor, who did much to promote sailing here in Oak Harbor.

This is a fun regatta with an afternoon of buoy racing on Saturday and a distance race to Baby Island on Sunday. There will also be an amazing catered dinner upstairs in the club following racing on Saturday which is free to skippers and crew! A skipper’s meeting will be held at the top of the dock at 10am October 6th. Racing starts at noon!

NOR, Entry Form and Sailing Instructions are posted on the Regatta page https://www.ohyc.org/scott-cline-regatta .

Check out Sail Fleet on the ohyc.org website for details.

Come out for the last OHYC regatta of the year! Wear lots of orange to honor Scott.

Hope to see you there!

Shannon Buys

Sail Fleet Captain
