It seems like forever since we had our kickoff meeting and were just getting our season started when everything was put on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The good news is that we are headed in the right direction and there is light at the end of the tunnel. Island County moved into phase 2 of the reopening plan which means we can start racing again with groups of 5 or less per boat.
We had a great evening of racing on May 28. It was great to see the Windseekers outnumber the flying sails class. As the season progresses, we expect more boat to make it out each Thursday. Speaking of Windseekers, I have a class flag for you to display when racing. It simply says, “got wind?”. Just a fun little way to support the fleet. Come see me at A-17 before your next race.
Shannon and I are trying to find a spot for the postponed Round Whidbey race and will come up with a weekend fun race at some point.
Hope to see you all out there in the next few weeks!
