Welcome to the Oak Harbor Yacht Club

The Oak Harbor Yacht Club...

(OHYC) provides an environment of camaraderie and sportsmanship, to promote an interest in boating and boating related activities and to provide a forum for the exchange of boating information. The OHYC continues the traditions of the Deception Pass Boat Club, of which the OHYC is a direct descendant.

While basically a boating organization, the Club membership is open to non-boaters and boaters alike.

We offer a full range of social activity from Hamburger/potluck Fridays, and cook your own chicken or steak Wednesdays, to monthly sit-down dining in our ballroom.

The clubroom is open Wednesday through Saturday for cocktails. Thursdays have become game/old movie night. Traditional events include Opening Day, Pirate’s Children Fishing Derby, Holiday Lighted Boat Parade, Commodore’s Ball, and New Years Ball. These events are augmented by other monthly events based on holidays or themes. Our Ballroom is available for private parties and may be rented to either members or non-members.

The Cruise Fleet sponsors several cruises each year. These include such events as Anchoring 101, an excellent experience for new boaters. In addition, cruises include weekend/holiday cruises to the San Juan Islands, extended cruises to the Canadian Islands and beyond, as well as to the south sound.

Oak Harbor Yacht Club Buccaneers provide Thanksgiving meals for families

Usually buccaneers are busy looting and pillaging for their own fortunes. Not so for the Oak Harbor Yacht Club Buccaneers. As they have for the past several years, the Buccaneers have been busy putting together Thanksgiving meals for needy families in the Oak Harbor area. Each family previously screened through the Opportunity Council receives a turkey, a ham, stuffing mix, cranberries, vegetables, fruit, rolls, and a store certificate. In order to purchase the food for the Thanksgiving meals, the Buccaneers raise funds through a yearly Bayou themed dinner and white elephant auction held in August at the Oak Harbor Yacht Club.

This year the Buccaneers will donate twenty-seven meals making the Thanksgiving holiday a little more special for the recipient families.

The Buccaneers are also active in other community events. The Pirate Ship is a fixture in Oak Harbor parades as well as on Opening Day which kicks off the boating season at the Oak Harbor Yacht Club. The youth Fishing Derby and a Christmas Angel gift tree are also sponsored by the Buccaneers.

About The Club

The OHYC is open to non-boaters as well as boat owners. We extend a warm welcome to reciprocal club members and invites them to enjoy our facilities during their voyages in the area. Remember there are hamburgers and other delicacies on Friday evenings at the club house for members, guests and reciprocal club members. Check out the monthly calendar for current events!

The Yacht Club Ballroom is available for rent to the public for receptions, parties and group events. Email the Manager or call the club at 360-675-1314 to schedule your event! Check out our Catering Services.
